Really proud of this one.
For this Alberta women's health video, we ran a lean crew — a 2-person G&E team, one first AC, a small art department, plus HMU and sound — and traded crew size for shooting days. Three days, multiple locations, tight-knit team.
I've found that for the right project, a smaller team with more days beats a bigger team with fewer. Fewer people on set means less noise between setups, and it gives the actors room to actually live in a scene instead of resetting for department turnovers every ten minutes. It changes the whole feel on set — quieter, more focused — exactly the kind of space actors need to do their best work.
Shot on the ARRI Alexa Mini with Dulens APO primes, running a small lighting package with a dialed-in team. That setup gave us the freedom to shift and adjust on a whim and capture moments we never would've caught with a bigger footprint.
